Professional Standards

Accueil are dedicated to improving our service to customers and maintaining excellent build standards and as such are members of the National Federation of House Builders (NHBC).

Established in 1936, the NHBC (National House Building Council) is the UK’s leading standard-setting body and provider of warranty and insurance for new homes. The NHBC’s role is to work with the house-building industry to raise the standards of new homes and to provide consumer protection for homebuyers. The NHBC currently insures over 1.6 million homes, over 80% of all of the homes built annually.

To sell homes with NHBC Buildmark cover, registered buildings must comply with the NHBC Standards which set out the technical requirements for design, materials and workmanship in new home construction.

To become a member of the NHBC builders must undergo a rigorous commercial and technical assessment. As part of the technical assessment new homes must be inspected throughout key stages of the build, from foundations to completion.

For more infomation on the NHBC please visit their Home Owners section at

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard

In order to operate effectively and to a set quality standard Accueil are ISO 9001:2015 Accredited. In March 2016 we passed our Stage 1 documentation audit and our full practical audit in June 2016.

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). It is the most widely used QMS standard in the world, with over 1.1 million certificates issued to organizations in 178 countries.

ISO 9001 provides a framework and set of principles that ensure a common-sense approach to the management of your organization to consistently satisfy customers and other stakeholders. In simple terms, it provides the basis for effective processes and effective people to deliver an effective product or service time after time.

A copy of our Quality Policy is available here.

We are independently audited by NQA on a regular basis and have been coached through the process by MQF Corporate Services Limited. For more information about the Quality Standard please visit

The Federation of Master Builders (FMB)

The FMB was established in 1941 and is the UK's largest trade association in the building industry. Their mission is to ensure that their members are committed to quality and service.

Before becoming a Master Builder members must meet their strict membership criteria and pass their vetting process. As well as signing up to a Code of Practive members must confirm their trading address and VAT registration details. The FMB also check members employers and public liability insurance, verify that they have no un-discharged backruptcies or relevant and outstanding County Court Judgements and perform credit, public record and director checks - all of which they must pass before being accepted into membership.

Since 2011, all members have passed an independent inspection before joining and from 2015 all members have agreed to an inspection every three years. Member inspections are carried out by an inspector from the British Board of Agrément, an independent non-profit distributing organisation accredited by the UK Accreditation Service.

The FMB can also assist consumers who have a dispute with a member company. The disputes service offers a free concilation service and if they are unable to resolve the dispute then they can offer the parties the option to use independent mediation and/or arbitration for a nominal charge.

As well as credibility in the industry we hope that our membership will allow our customers peace of mind that we are working towards a high build standard and that we are accountable for our code of conduct.
