The Upton Barn

Meadow Hall Barns Bottom Street Northend

The Upton Barn

The Meadow Hall Barns are situated on the corner of Bottom Street and Peartrees in roughly the centre of the village of Northend. Working closely with listed building officers and local architects the site has been designed to create a striking mixture of new and old whilst complement the surrounding architecture.

Toward the north east side of the site the original farm barns have been removed to construct two new build Dutch style residential barns in keeping with the original layout and visual representation of the site. The Dutch barns, known as the Dasset and Upton Barns, are unique in the village and indeed the local area. Both properties are set into the landscape ensuring that privacy is maximised whilst minimising the impact of the building from the highway.

The barns are equipped with underfloor heating powered by Air Source Heat Pumps to reduce their environmental impact. Each home has private allocated parking for two cars.

The Upton Barn comprises large reception hall in the centre of the plot with the living room, kitchen/dining room, cloakroom and family room accessed directly off the central space. The living room is large spanning the full length of the plot with the option available to divide into two rooms should this suit the buyer's taste. The family room is located to the front of the property and is equipped so that it could be used as either a formal dining room, family room or study.

To the rear of the property is the very generous kitchen with dining area and large bi-fold doors leading onto a rear terrace and landscaped garden. The kitchen is individually designed and fully customisable with our kitchen design team, it leads onto a good sized utility room. Our kitchens are designed for modern living with Neff appliances, including slide and hide oven, integrated dishwasher and combination microwave oven with warming drawer.

On the first floor the gallery landing leads onto all four bedrooms and the family bathroom with glazed screen showcasing the full height of the barn. All four bedrooms are large double rooms and all have fitted storage. The master bedroom and second largest bedroom have en-suite shower rooms. The family bathroom is beautifully designed to provide a large bath and seperate walk in shower. Both bathrooms have sinks contained within vanity units to maximise storage.

Externally the properties are build from mixed materials combining natural stone pillars, rendered and cedar clad sections. The barrell shaped roof is created from zinc to reflect on the old farm buildings. The front approaches are fully landscaped with bonded resin baths and driveways finished with granite sets to denote boundaries. Both the Upton and Dassett barns share a communal orchard to the front of the properties.

The rear gardens are landscaped to provide a 3m terrace with staggered planting and stairs leading up onto the main garden which is laid to lawn. The boundaries are a mixture of closeboard fencing and stone walls.

We offer a full customisation service to buyers who reserve their properties early so early viewing is recommended. Both the Upton and Dassett Barns are now available to view with an anticipated completion date of November/December 2016.
